Encourage People to Shine A Society in Which People Enjoy Fashion in Their Own Way

We see unlimited possibilities in fashion. Fashion allows for the expression of any personality, across age, gender, abilities, and tastes. Play fashion! is our mission, and under this mission we operate as a platformer to create new products and services with our partners. We develop businesses that add color to life for every customer, expressed through freedom of thought unbound by existing frameworks.

Initiatives for society to promote understanding of diversity

We are engaged in educational activities to promote awareness of diversity in society through fashion, aiming to create an environment where everyone can live everyday with excitement, and allow the individuality of all persons to shine. Our participation in and sponsorship of Tokyo Rainbow Pride, one of the largest LGBTQ+ festivals in Japan, and Kyushu Rainbow Pride are parts of these activities. We make individuals to express themselves freely, through the launch of the new genderless brand "Anui" in 2023 and other brands that meet generational needs.

Being an LGBTQ+ Ally

To deepen understanding of LGBTQ+ and other minorities, we will engage in social awareness activities and expand recognition of genderless fashion. To date, we have revised our internal regulations, including adding language to the definition of spouse to recognize same-sex partners in order to ensure fair application of benefits under our system. As of 2022, we show an original training video to employees at all stores in Japan and fly rainbow flags in stores as part of celebrating Adastria Pride Month, working to promote understanding of minorities. In recognition of these efforts, we were awarded the highest rating of Gold in the PRIDE Index* for the fourth consecutive year. We will continue to lead the fashion industry as an ally in the LGBTQ+ community.
*The PRIDE Index is Japan’s first index to evaluate efforts to support sexual minorities in the workplace, created by the voluntary organization work with Pride in 2016.

Understanding and promoting inclusive fashion

We are promoting "Play fashion! for ALL", the inclusive fashion project with the aim of allowing all individuals, regardless of disability, age, gender, etc., to shine their own uniqueness through fashion. Since 2023, we have been participating in "Buddy Walk® Tokyo for all" , where we organize fashion shows with the theme of "Fashion for Everyone" and exhibit display booths with fitting rooms for "comfortable clothing regardless of disability or physical differences. It has become an opportunity to learn for employees not only introduce items with inclusive designs and ideas that everyone can enjoy fashion, but also directly listen to the diverse needs of our customers. We will continue to promote the concept of inclusive design widely through participating in and hosting events across the country.

Play fashion! through BtoB business

Adastria Lifestyle Creation, a department that handles BtoB businesses, supervised the production of uniforms for care workers at Mokusei, a relief facility and the special nursing home operated by the social welfare corporation Hokuyoukai. We provide uniforms using our original material "cotatto", which combines high functionality and design, reflecting the voices of on-site staff. This supports the creation of a work environment where on-site staff can engage in their work more easily than before. We will continue to create fashion that values the perspective and thoughts of the people involved through business collaboration with various companies.

Fostering the next generation through fashion

Work experience program supports the dreams of the next generation through popular brands

One of our brands, repipi armario, offers a work experience program for elementary and junior high school students in communities where stores are located. The theme of this project is for everyone to have a good time together, and Something Fun for Everyone182 young students participated at 24 stores in fiscal 2024, experiencing retail sales and the joy of working in the fashion industry. Store managers designed the program based on in-store manuals, helping participants experience store operations in person. Work included folding clothes and making style suggestions to other participants. Through the program, repipi armario helps students learn about diverse career perspectives and discover new possibilities for themselves as they look toward the future.

LEAD PROJECT: Working with young creators to uplift the fashion industry

The LEAD PROJECT, launched in June 2024, provides an opportunity for creators who aspire to work in the fashion industry. The project targets individuals who already have their own brand or are working to launch a new brand. The creators themselves decide on brand concepts, conduct product planning, and promote their work on social media. We provide our unique expertise in product development and e-commerce, which, when crossed with the ideas of the next generation, creates new trends and fosters human resources who will lead the fashion industry into the future.
